Hooray! *jumps in elation*
My polymate, Xiaowei, is right here in Sydney too! (kudos to Eric for the tip-off on MSN. I owe u one!) Am absolutely thrilled when she called my mobile this morn around 11am. Havin slept at the break of dawn, I was, of course, caught in a groggy state. But I sure perked up when I realized it was her. That, in cert, directs to the notion - "I am not alone in a foreign island anymore!!". She's here to do a graduate diploma in midwifery and her cousin's pursuing post-grad accountancy in U Syd too.
Mulling over Xiaowei definitely rekindled and jolted some memories of those heart-felt times in Sri Lanka spent with the tsunami victims in 2005. We were there on a youth expedition project to help build a new educational centre for children as well as give out health packs to those affected by the disaster. I was on the logistics team, and we had to pack heaps and mountains of hygiene props ranging from mosquito nets to nail clippers and toilet paper. Milk and biscuits were also given out to school kids on a daily basis and first-aid classes were taught to the teachers too. It was definitely laborious and no picnic, but overall, the entire experience was something I wouldn't trade anything for.
Anyway, guess where we went for a meet-up today ?

Direct Factory Outlets (DFO)!!

Secret Garden, Bruce Springsteen
She'll let you in her house
If you come knockin' late at night
She'll let you in her mouth
If the words you say are right
If you pay the price
She'll let you deep inside
But there's a secret garden she hides
She'll let you in her car
To go drivin' round
She'll let you into the parts of herself
That'll bring you down
She'll let you in her heart
If you got a hammer and a vise
But into her secret garden, don't think twice
You've gone a million miles
How far'd you get
To that place where you can't remember
And you can't forget
She'll lead you down a path
There'll be tenderness in the air
She'll let you come just far enough
So you know she's really there
She'll look at you and smile
And her eyes will say
She's got a secret garden
Where everything you want
Where everything you need
Will always stay
A million miles away
